The fine for using a cell phone while driving is different in different countries. For example, in the United States, the fine for the first ticket is $100, for the second ticket is $250 and for the third ticket is $500 along with the suspension of driving license and ID.
In extreme cases like a car accident or a motorbike accident, it can even lead to imprisonment of the at-fault driver if he or she has caused some serious injury to someone else on the road or endangered the life of an animal.
If you’re caught texting while driving, they are subjected to a $99 for the very first time, The fine increases to $200 for each subsequent offense. The fine can be as high as $4,000 if the driver was responsible for causing an accident due to distracted driving.
Dangerous Activities on Road:
Recording oneself while doing stunts or very dangerous activities with vehicles on road at traffic places or in front of public places like a school and hospital can lead to serious outcomes for the driver and passengers accompanying him or her. This is an example of distracted driving law and of cell phone law which h increases the risk of accidents manifolds.
Punishment or Relieved?
As mentioned earlier, the fine for using a cell phone while driving can be influenced by the reason for using the phone, if the reason is silly and perceived as outrageous by the judge or the officer-in-charge the driver may meet punishments in jail for a month or two depending upon the intensity of the act.
But if the reason for using a cell phone is for emergencies experienced by the driver, the ticket can be dismissed by the judge and the county officer, keeping in mind all the reasons.
